PTG STUDIOS “Great Taste” to feature Charleston Gas Light
May 4, 2004, Deerfield Beach, FL – Platinum Television Group is pleased to announce the selection of Charleston Gas Light for its innovative, educational television series, Great Taste.
The Great Taste segment “Distinctive Home Accents” will feature Innovative and Decorative Exterior Lighting Systems. It will educate on the key elements of the crafted design and its durability, as well as illustrate the warmth and coziness the gas light experience brings. The show will highlight the different collections of Charleston Gas Light as well, and show how the lights are produced.
There is nothing quite as warm and welcoming as the soft glow of a flame. And when encased in a brass or copper lantern, your home can evoke the charm and grace of the Gas Light Era. They are, in fact, inspired by homes from the 1800s found in Boston, New Orleans, and Charleston.
Charleston Gas Light’s copper lanterns and brass lanterns are perfect for decorative outdoor lighting as well as garden and patio lighting, and are available as post lanterns, hanging lanterns and wall mount lanterns. They are fired with natural gas or propane, available as both gas and electric lanterns. They come with a variety of burners--an open flame burner as well as an upright, dual inverted, and triple inverted burner.
The number of styles in the Plantation Collection (classic authentic copper and brass lanterns, with designs named for famed plantations) and French Quarter Custom Collection (glass, solid copper, ornamental scrolls, brackets and more) is only limited by one’s imagination. Each Charleston Gas Light is built to order. You add the accessories which will create the elegant look that will make your home special. The company also offers mountings, options and accessories, lampposts, and copper mailboxes. They will soon open a showroom in Charleston, SC, but are currently sold via catalog and online.
Debra McKinley, the company president, designs custom lighting fixtures and lighting plans with a variety of options and prices for any type of home, and she creates the lines of period lanterns for which the firm is known. As an artist, McKinley sketches an original, always seeking new designs. Homeowners suggest their innovations and she
is glad to oblige. The designs are not only beautiful, but durable and non-corrosive even in salt air.
